My successful print was screen printing because it's easy to do without the headache of if you use lot of ink to make your print. Making the design makes it look outstanding with the colors combine together or separate. Making any design out of a Stencil using negative space to something inside of it. The stencil makes the print because that is #1 out of anything to make it.
A print I would do-over is styro printing because I don't like the process of this design with it looking up side down, using different ink, thicker lines, and thick Styrofoam. The lines should deeper to make the ink come through. I enjoyed doing the collagraph because using the printing press was fun to work with turning the knobs. My design came out looking nice using the color scheme and wetting the paper gave it a cool texture to it. The print block is a useful tool to make my piece. My inspiration for my sculpture was sports so I had an idea to make a jersey. I decided sports because it's my life and I like keep up with all the latest news about all athletes. For my jersey I did a player that I like on the New England Patriots. I learned a sculpture technique using Plaster Gauze which was new to me. I layered the gauze all over my shoe box to create a sturdy base. Using spray paint made the jersey looks splattered. My goal to complete this 3-D challenge is to collage my pictures onto the jersey and put the words CHAMPS on the back.
My inspire for my cup is from mya giving me a piece for my crown calling it the King of Thunder. As I observe my cup in the background you can see that I cut out a lighting bolt symbolizing where I got the name for my cup. At the top of this cup you see an X with geometric shapes.
As a group we took risk as using texture tools to create small circles and stamp. Using a lighter color for the background making the painting pop out also using the toothbrush to create the specs at the bottom. To solve our problems we to draw the lines and geometrical shapes from all of our developing skills project. We pick which colors to use for each different area of our abstract painting. Using the light colors made the darker come out.
My thoughts about my artwork is when I was coloring with dark blue crayon turned to a light blue during painting it over with black. Also the reddish orange turned to a pale orange. I choosed feathers because birds are apart of nature and feathers are found in national parks everywhere. I like how the light colors contrast with the dark background and the use of geometrical shapes and lines. The mediums I used was crayon, black with blue paint, and a sponge to get a crinkle.
Artist Statement Jadin Dasher My Artwork is named the cliff hanger because when I blew the ink I saw a rock. My thought was to see what animal lives in a rocky climate. So I choose a Ram. The blue and purple to make the horizon and used orange, yellow, and brown to make the mountains. The ink made the body look bold also the ink made me lines where I can see my ranges of color. I see a triangle at the top of my artwork. When planning my piece I used Newsprint paper to cut a shield out. I call my art piece protection of Shen Yun. I had had fun using the india ink to make the chinese characters and make spec’s with the ink around my artwork. On my shield the stencil helped out by putting a design on my shield. The tape used bold lines to make the triangle. Protection is a strong word because everyone needs it in today’s society. |
